Tattooed Lady Body Art : STUDIO POLICY
A tattoo is defined in English law as a PERMANENT mark made in the skin with ink.It is illegal throughout the UK to tattoo on a person under the age of 18, eighteen, years of age. This will be strictly followed and customers should not be offended when asked for proof of age. Acceptable proof of age is one of the following: passport, birth certificate, driving license, or similar official legitimation (ID or warrant card) for example from HM forces, or a recognised employer etc., which bares a picture, the date of birth and a sample signature. Student cards will not be accepted, as there are a large number of forgeries in circulation. There is no clear regulation in the UK regarding age and piercing.
The policy of this studio is as follows:
No one under the proven age of 18(eighteen) will receive any form of genital piercing. 18 (eighteen) is also the minimum age for nipple piercing. For other piercings the age at which these will be carried out on the clients own assurance is proven 16 (Sixteen). Anyone who requires a piercing and who is under 16 must have the permission of their parent or guardian who must be present, or represented by an adult accredited by the parent or guardian to convey that permission on their behalf. ANY ATTEMPT TO AVOID THE AGE LIMITS WILL RESULT IN A PERMANENT BAN FROM THE STUDIO. Persons under sixteen will not be admitted to the premises unless accompanied by a responsible adult. (Please note we do not regard it as acceptable, without the prior consent of the Proprietor, for any person under sixteen, where they are not the actual client, to be left in the waiting room whilst the "adult" has a tattoo or piercing).

You will in any case make life easier for both you and us if you think you might be asked for legitimation to have it with you when you arrive.
Many artists, for a variety of reasons will not do tattooing "above the collar and below the cuff." I am willing to tattoo on faces heads and hands, providing I feel sure that it is an informed and reasoned choice by the client and on their signing an indemnity or release to the effect that I, my staff and the Studio will not be held responsible for the social (and employment related) consequences in their lives of such radical display. Similarly I am willing to do both male and female genital tattooing, which many artists will not undertake. For further details contact me in person.
I do permanent cosmetic tattooing, including scar coverage, eyebrows, lip reshaping or emphasis, Please inquire for further details.-
I do not do so-called "Semi-permanent cosmetics", nor, on principle, do I do so-called "Five year tattoos" or "Temptoos" as they are generally known. So please don't ask!-
No piercing will be carried out unless the proprietor is convinced that it is the will of the person being pierced.
Since piercing became popular there has been a proliferation of firms manufacturing and selling "body jewellery". Unfortunately, much of this bares all the marks of being made in ignorance of the most basic requirements of body piercing in regard to length, angles etc., and is often of inferior manufacturing quality as well as. It is the policy of this Studio to only pierce with jewellery purchased from this studio. In that way we can always stand for the quality of the product.
Also if you are pregnant or go into hospital for any reason we can supply flexible non-reactive, non-conductive P.T.F.E. jewellery replacements. So you don't need to lose your piercing.

Customers will please note:

The use of any illegal drug whilst on the premises will result in an immediate and permanent ban on those responsible, they may also be reported to the police. This in not a moral judgment about the use of drugs but a policy to protect the Studio itself from eventual prosecution. The same applies to the trading or exchange of drugs whilst on the premises as to there usage.

Furthermore:

Threatening or abusive behavior will result in immediate and permanent exclusion from the studio and may result in prosecution. Likewise any attempt at theft, however minor, from the studio will result in a ban and probable prosecution.
Anyone obviously under the influence of alcohol will not be tattooed or pierced, and will be asked to vacate the premises. Apart from more obvious reasons, the consumption of alcohol increases bleeding.

Anyone consuming or attempting to consume alcohol on the premises will be removed and may be banned. Nor may food be consumed on the premises without prior permission.

 

Tattooed Lady Body Art is the first studio in the North West to be registered to legally perform Branding and all forms of Scarification. Anyone over the age of eighteen who is interested in having these more extream forms of body art carried out should contact the studio in person for a consultation.

 
NB! If you suffer from any disease such as HIV/AIDS; Chronic Herpes, in particular Genital Herpes; Hepatitis A, B or C; Cardiac (Heart) Conditions, Diabetes of any form, Epilepsy, ME, Asthma; Hemophilia; Psoriasis; or other serious illness; or if you are on, or have in the last two years been on, Chemotherapy, or if you are on or have been on "Accutane" or similar treatment for chronic or deep acne, or if you are taking or until recently were taking any prescription or herbal blood thinning medication; each or any combination of which can affect you during the tattoo or piercing, will nearly certainly affect your rate of healing, and can represent a risk to the artist, other staff and other clients, at the studio, or if you know you have any allergy that could affect you, your tattoo or piercing, including the healing afterwards, PLEASE TELL US BEFORE WE BEGIN. I can assure you we will treat the information with absolute confidentiality, and will in all probability do the tattoo or piercing anyway. However, if we know then we can take the extra precautions needful to make it safe for all concerned. If on the other hand you don't tell us, we repudiate all responsibility for any ill consequences you may suffer, and will take all necessary measures with the full severity of the law regarding any ill consequences suffered by the Proprietor, Staff and Clients of Tattooed Lady Body Art.
NB! The proprietor of Tattooed Lady Body Art is willing to negotiate discount on her normal prices for serving members of HM Forces, those having or provably deserving of a War Pension, Full Patch members of MC clubs, and others who have "paid there dues." However to all our customers I would refer to a sign I first saw in the garage where I have my vehicle serviced: "Customers please note: Prices may rise according to the attitude shown by the customer."
